Neguac, which is the “Capitale des Savoie”, was founded by Jean Savoie in 1756 and was incorporated in 1967. Our village boasts a population of 1623. A typical Acadian and bilingual village, we are honored to call the community of Esgenoôpetitj (Burnt Church First Nation) our friends and neighbors.

Neguac is a cultural community with different identities: Acadian, native and Anglophone. We are the major service center of a region that has more than ten thousand people. We have a great number of restaurants, stores, customer services and health services.

The principal economic activities are commercial fishing such as lobster and that of oyster farming. The rise of Maison Beausoleil’s oysters positioned Neguac as the Atlantic Canada’s Oyster Hub.

You are welcome to join our numerous activities such as the Festival Rendez Vous and the Provincial Giant Pumpkin Festival where you will have lots of fun and view our Acadian Culture. Neguac wishes you a warm welcome.
